HILS, with its humble beginning in the year 2000 with mere 12 students, we accomplished an astonishing growth in excelling thousands of students over the past 22 years by preparing them for different competitive exams in the field of life science. Successful students have been placed in reputed institutes like NCBS, IISc, IISER, JNU etc, and as Assistant professors in many colleges across the country and also as scientists and research scholars in renowned international universities.

Hashim’s Institute of Life Science- HILS is a pioneer life science coaching institute in India located at Kariyavattom, 12kms from the capital city of Kerala-Thiruvananthapuram. About Founder

Dr. Hashim.M.S, M.Phil, PhD

Dr. Hashim M.S is the founder of the well known organization HILS. With his honest and devoted commitment in teaching, his students have conquered great heights and are now placed as scientists, assistant professors, lecturers and PhD scholars across the globe in prestigious institutions. This magical teacher has an excellent talent in connecting the dots in different areas of life science and links it all into one! In a short span of 6 months, he consolidates the complex areas of different subjects and simplifies it to students that make them understand the real beauty of life science. For the magnificent and selfless guru he is, he is fondly looked upon by his students as a wonderful and friendly teacher, who can be approached at any time to guide you throughout to attain your goals.

Facilities and Services

Coaching

The students are prepared for competing in exams like UGC-CSIR-JRF-NET, GATE, ICMR, DBT, GATE, JAM

Batches

HILS run two batches every year. One batch from January-June and the other from July-December. Apart from this, HILS also offers a Weekend batch where the classes will be held on Saturdays and Sundays alone. Students who are pursuing their Bachelor’s/Master’s degree or working people can indulge in the weekend classes without disturbing their routines.

Eligibility

Students who are pursuing their Bachelors or Masters in Life Science or students who have completed their PG in any stream of life science like Zoology, Botany, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biomedical genetics, Biostatistics etc. aspiring for research and lectureship are eligible.

Class Timings

The class timings are different for different batches. 6 month batches have classes from 10:00 am to 01:30 pm on weekdays and from 09:30 am to 04:30 pm on weekends. Holiday batch classes are from 09:30 am-05:30 pm. The classes include teaching sessions, group discussions, previous year question discussions, revisions, model exams etc.

HILS is a really good stage to improve knowledge and rational thinking. For qualifying a national entrance exam mere knowledge of the subject won't help you that much, it is very much important to know where to apply the knowledge and how to face the questions. I think the teaching in HILS is best for knowing the reason behind daily day facts in Life science. By relating the topics together and allowing us to recollect what we studied in the previous classes. Detailed and stress free classes of Hashim sir needs much appreciation. I attended the classes on a pandemic situation via online mode.

Online Guest Lecture by Dr. Harvey F Lodish

Professor of Biology & Biological Engineering, (MIT, Cambridge, USA)

An online lecture was organized by our Institute where none other than Dr. Harvey F Lodish participated. Dr. Harvey F Lodish is a renowned molecular and cell biologist, professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Founding Member of the Whitehead Institute of Biomedical Research, and lead author of the textbook Molecular Cell Biology. He enlightened us on the topic: "MOLECULAR BIOLOGY AND DEVELOPMENT OF THERAPIES FOR UNMET MEDICAL NEEDS; A PERSONAL HISTORY"
